World PMOS Month 2026, Awareness and Action
September 2026 is being observed as World PMOS Month, dedicated to increasing awareness of Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) and promoting a more comprehensive understanding of this complex endocrine, metabolic and reproductive disorder.

The PMOS Taskforce of the Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES) is observing this month through a series of awareness and educational initiatives aimed at improving recognition, diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of PMOS in Bangladesh.

As part of these activities, the PMOS Taskforce organized a PMOS Workshop on 4 September 2026, bringing together general physicians and healthcare professionals for focused scientific discussions on the clinical spectrum, diagnosis, metabolic consequences and comprehensive management of PMOS.

The workshop emphasized the importance of early recognition, risk assessment, lifestyle intervention and appropriate multidisciplinary care, while highlighting the need to look beyond reproductive symptoms and address the broader metabolic and endocrine health of affected women.

As Coordinator of the PMOS Taskforce, I am grateful to all the speakers, panelists and participating physicians who contributed to the success of this educational initiative. Through continued professional education, public awareness and collaborative research, we hope to strengthen PMOS care and improve long-term health outcomes for women in Bangladesh.

It is an opportunity to move from awareness to action, and from fragmented care to a more integrated, patient-centered approach.
