PCOS is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age, yet its management is often reduced to a prescription pad. Lifestyle deserves the first conversation.
A 5–10% reduction in body weight can restore ovulation in a significant proportion of patients. Low-glycaemic nutrition and resistance training improve insulin sensitivity independently of weight loss.
Sleep is the underrated lever. Poor sleep worsens androgen excess and appetite regulation. Screen for obstructive sleep apnoea in patients with central obesity.
Medications have their place — but they work far better on a foundation of stable habits.
